Baklava is awesome and I thought the basic baklava ingredients (walnuts, cinnamon and honey) would translate well to a baked oatmeal. IMO, this is one of the best baked oatmeals I’ve invented so far!
Baked oatmeal is my favorite thing ever because it’s convenient, filling, and easy to meal prep. I wouldn’t bother eating a healthy breakfast if I didn’t have it prepared in the fridge, ready to go.
I don’t ever reheat this — I just grab it from the fridge and eat it cold. You, however, can reheat this if you want. I suspect that baked oatmeal reheats particularly well.

- 1 egg
- ¼ cup liquid egg white
- 2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1½ cups milk of your choice

- Pour the mixture into the prepared casserole dish and top with another ½ cup chopped walnuts.
