½cupdry cereal (I used Bobs Red Mill 7-Grain Cereal)
1chopped apple(I used a gala apple)
2tablespoonraisins
1cupskim milk
¼teaspooncinnamon
⅛teaspoonground ginger
1pinchground nutmeg
1pinchground cloves
½tablespoonbrown sugar or maple syrup
½teaspoonvanilla extract
1tablespoonheavy whipping cream
Instructions
In a small saucepan, stir together the dry cereal, apples, raisins, cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, cloves and skim milk. Put the lid on and bring to a boil over medium-high heat.
As soon as the pot boils, turn down to medium-low and let the mixture simmer for about 10 minutes until the cereal, apples and raisins are soft and most of the milk has been absorbed.
At the end of cooking, stir in the sugar, heavy cream and vanilla extract.
